GREAT QUOTES! Regarding their decision to vote against the Washington DC "assault weapons" ban, Democratic Senators Norman K Stone and James Brochin joined three Republicans on the committee to kill the bill. Brochin said the reasons for the decision were simple. "The only people we target in this bill are law-abiding citizens who use these guns for target shooting or competition," Brochin tossed in a very pointed line "I wish gun control worked, but it doesn't make any sense." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Another mayor has dropped out of New York Mayor Michael
Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" coalition. Williamsport,
Pennsylvania Mayor Mary B. Wolf said she joined in hopes of finding
community based solutions to reduce gun violence. Instead, Wolf says she
found out the coalition "may be working on issues that conflict with legal
gun ownership" describing some of the actions on behalf of the coalition
were "dubious." IN BRIEF: The Brady Campaign has kicked a "stoptheNRA.com" campaign for 2007. Individuals are asked to make a New Year's donation to help "sponsor sensible gun laws". We're not going to going to stand for that! Check out a letter that Outdoor Ohio sent to this dangerous lobby effort. Click HERE.
