Brush Creek Wildlife Area
Brush Creek Wildlife is 2,546 acres of woodland and 2 acres of water.  This wildlife area is located just east of St. Rt. 164 in the northern part of the county.  This is a public fishing and hunting area.  The fish include bluegill, suckers, bullhead, and bass.  Rabbit, squirrel, deer, groundhog, furbearers, turkey, and grouse are the animals that dwell in this area.  216-679-2201

Fernwood State Forest
Fernwood State Forest is a public hunting and fishing area.  The forest is located just north of St. Rt. 151.  It is 2,107 acres  of woodland and 20 acres of water.  Shore fishing and a shooting range are available.  Campsites with and with out electricity and other recreational activities are included.  216-264-5671

Friendship Park
This park is 1,350 acres of public hunting and 100 acres of public fishing.  Only electric motorboats are permitted.  Campsites with and without electricity are available.

Indian Short Creek Access
Boat ramp access to Ohio River.

Island Creek Boat Launch
At the Island Creek Boat Launch pike island fishing is available with a boat ramp fee.  Channel Catfish, Sauger, Walleye, smallmouth bass, hybrid striped bass, white bass, largemouth bass, flathead cat fish, crappie/sunfish, and spotted bass are the fish available to catch.

Jefferson Lake State Park
This state park is 944 acres of woodland and 25 acres of water.  Public hunting in designated areas.  Electric motor boats only when lake fishing.  The fish available are largemouth bass, catfish, bluegill, and red ear sunnys.  This area was acquired in 1928 and the dam was constructed in 1934.  Camping with and without electricity and other recreational activities are available.  419-765-4459

Kaul Wildlife Area
Kaul Wildlife Area is 900 acres and includes access to the Ohio River for fishing.  Public hunting areas are available.  Free permits are required.  Hunt for grouse, squirrel, deer, and furbearers.  216-644-2293

Steubenville Marina
With 4,606 acres of water, power and sail boats are permitted.  Pike island pool fishing is also available.
