Bradley Woods Reservation
785 acres
which include 5.5 acres of water. Water has excellent fishing for
Rainbow Trout, LM Bass, Bluegill, Sunfish, Crappie and Channel Cat.
Bunns Lake is located in Bradley Woods Reservation, off White Oak Lane, off Bradley Road in Westlake. Bunns Lake is a 5.55-acre impoundment. Fish habitat at the lake is enhanced through placement of brush piles and gravel filled fishing-spawning structures. A convenient lakeside trail and several fishing-dock platforms improve fishing access.
Special fishing regulations are posted at Bunns Lake. The lake has a designated fishing zone and a refuge area to protect the nesting habitat for waterfowl. The two areas are designated by appropriate signs. The minimum legal size for largemouth bass is 12 inches and the daily harvest limit is two bass per angler. The daily harvest limit for rainbow trout is three fish per angler.
This park thrives because it is on 350-million-year-old sandstone that causes soil to hold the moisture that creates the swamp-forest environment. Unfortunately, the moisture also attracts bugs and mosquitoes.
